Sports fans were bouncing between score apps, tip sites, spreadsheets, and social feeds. Nothing tied live games, personal pick history, AI insight, and community into one place that felt good enough to open every day.

We built Sirius Stats the way you’d build a product people return to — in clear chapters. First the daily hub, then personal tracking, then AI and community, so each piece could earn its keep before the next layer arrived.

Today it’s a free home for NFL, CFB, NBA, MLB, and UFC — live updates, AI pick bots, parlays, and a dashboard that feels like a command center without the intimidation.

Inside the build

A look at how the project took shape — the decisions, the work, and what visitors feel when they land.

01

Starting with the daily habit

Before features piled up, we asked a simpler question: what does someone want the moment they open the app? Usually it’s “what’s on today?” So we began with a sports hub that feels calm and current — game cards, league views, spreads and totals — across NFL, college football, NBA, MLB, and UFC.

That hub became the heartbeat of the product. Everything else had somewhere honest to live.

02

Making it personal

Once the games were clear, we gave fans a place of their own. Accounts unlocked a dashboard with today’s slate, active picks, recent win rate, and a sense of progress — the difference between browsing and belonging.

Pick tracking and parlays followed naturally. The site stopped feeling like a scoreboard and started feeling like a companion for the season.

03

Bringing AI in as a guide, not a gimmick

AI only made sense after the core loop worked. We layered GPT-assisted bots that share picks with a little reasoning — matchup context, confidence, tracked results — so the insight feels useful instead of mysterious.

Fans can see how the bots are doing over time. Trust grows when predictions have a memory.

04

Letting the community breathe

Sports are more fun together. We added room for community signals — what others are backing, conversation around picks — so people stay in the product instead of disappearing into another tab.

The data gets warmer when there’s a human pulse around it.

05

Landing softly at launch

Near the end we slowed down for the quiet work: solid auth, clean mobile experience, SEO for new visitors, and reliability for live nights. Big products don’t need a dramatic finish — they need to feel ready on an ordinary Tuesday.

Build process

  1. 1

    Discovery

We mapped leagues, fan habits, and a milestone plan that fit a $25k+ product — without promising everything at once.

  2. 2

    Foundation

We stood up the Rails app, design system, auth, and a sports hub fed by real game data.

  3. 3

    Core loops

Dashboards, picks, and performance tracking came next, so the product was useful before AI arrived.

  4. 4

    AI & community

Then we layered GPT predictions, bot records, and community engagement.

  5. 5

    Launch & care

Finally we polished conversion, SEO, and the day-to-day reliability live sports demand.
